Mexicánicos is returning to Discovery en Español with new restorations and exclusive creations by the talented Mexican mechanic Martín Vaca.

Mexicánicos will air on Discovery en Español Mondays during ‘Lunes de motores,’ the network’s programming block dedicated to the automotive world.

Season two is comprised of six one-hour episodes, and features a number of special guests, including Mexican music star Lupillo Rivera. A classic car aficionado, Rivera travels from California to ask Martín to restore a 1954 GMC pickup truck he covets for his extensive and sophisticated collection.

In another episode, Chivas de Guadalajara soccer player Ángel Reyna visits the workshop with a project as eccentric as he is: personalising his pickup to look like a luxury car.

Two new team members also join the show this season: Martín’s daughter, Isabel, charged with coming up with a new, more modern image and business model for ‘Vaca Limousines,’ one of Mexico’s largest conversion workshops for customised hearses and limousines; and a new designer, David Hernández. They lead a team of 60 employees who work on 30 vehicles at a time each day.

Launched in March this year, the first season of Mexicánicos was a success for Discovery en Español, propelling the network to the No. 1 spot during its time slot among Spanish language cable channels in the demographic segment of men and women aged 18 to 49.
