Although there's no official confirmation, subscribers have been reporting that a 4K channel is being tested on Movistar+.

Through social networks and users forums, subscribers of Telefónica's pay-TV platform in Spain have confirmed that an Ultra HD channel has been airing for the past week exclusively for fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) clients on computers, as most of the Movistar+ set-top boxes aren't yet programmed for 4K.

Called Pruebas UHDTV, the channel is airing videos from the football network Canal+Liga and the motor channel Moto GP.

Movistar+ has neither confirmed nor denied the tests. The service may be preparing to compete in a very young market, in which so far only Netflix offers regularly Ultra HD content.
