Argentina-based over-the-top (OTT), video-on-demand (VOD) platform Qubit.tv has launched across Colombia, targeting multiscreen audiences.
Following the creation of its Colombian office a year ago, Qubit.tv has commercially launched in one of the most connected countries in South America.
For a monthly subscription of nearly $5, Qubit.tv gives access to independent, local and classic films, Hollywood blockbusters and kids' programming on demand. The website and apps are supported by computers, smartphones, tablets and some smart TVs, and the service can simultaneously run on five different screens per subscription.
With the first month free, the regular subscription also enables users to purchase pay-per-view content.
"We don't want to be a foreign operator entering the market, we want to grow locally in each country, following each market's rules, making local allies and airing local content," said Facundo de la Iglesa, CEO, Qubit.tv.
With over ten million Internet subscriptions and 53 million mobile users, Colombia's multiscreen and connected audience is expected to rocket during the coming years.
