ABS, Arabsat agree capacity extension

Satellite operator ABS has extended its multi-transponder agreement with Arabsat for Ku-band capacity across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).


ARABSAT CEO PhotoArabsat will use the bandwidth on ABS-3A satellite at 3° West to reach markets servicing high growth data, video, mobility and government applications, in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Arab world.

This new contract reiterates Arabsat's confidence in ABS to support their business plan for this expanding market. The ABS-3A satellite entered commercial service on 31 August 2015, and covers the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
