Digital media services provider RR Media has made a significant boost to its portfolio by adding seven new video-on-demand (VOD) platform delivery options to its bouquet.

As part of the enhancement, RR Media says that it has on-boarded VOD platforms capable of directly populating a wider range of VOD libraries. The new multi-country and multi-region VOD platforms comprise Google Play, BT Vision, TalkTalk's blinkbox TV, Amazon Prime Video, British Airways' on demand entertainment system, Curzon Home Cinema and Wuaki.tv.

The new platforms join more than a hundred VOD platforms on which RR Media is already populating content for its customers. Commenting on the move, RR Media Europe MD Simon Kay said: "In the evolving world of OTT, VOD and SVOD, RR Media continues to lead the way for platform population ... With growing challenges of standardisation, metadata management and user experience, our clients are increasingly benefiting from our automation processes for fast and accurate platform population."
