Spanish series channel Atres Series is to launch on DirecTV across the US, targeting the Hispanic audience.
Owned by Atresmedia, the network is one of the fastest growing channels in the Hispanic market and is also available through Cablevision, Time Warner and Charter, in addition to Liberty in Puerto Rico.
The network will be distributed on DirecTV's Optimo Más package, delivering a Spanish-language, HD portfolio dedicated to the most acclaimed Spanish series. The channel also provides a video-on-demand (VOD) offer.
"The agreement with DirecTV constitutes a milestone in Atresmedia's international expansion and the confirmation of Atres Series potential," said Mar Martínez Raposo, international director, Atresmedia.
"We are excited to be the first satellite provider in the US to offer Atres Series and will continue to look for even more way to give our customers quality programming," said Emma Brackett, vice president, content and programming, DirecTV.
The announcement completes an important week for the network, whose local, Spanish version - re-branded to Atreseries - was set to launch in the European country.
