10 years after Turner Broadcasting decided to start broadcasting for the whole of Latin America from Argentina, the company is delivering TV entertainment to 58 million households in 40 countries across the region.

Turner Internacional Argentina, the largest Turner division outside the US, currently broadcasts 50 different feeds of 15 channels – Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Tooncast, TNT, TNT Series, Space, TCM, I.Sat, Warner Channel, TBS veryfunny, Infinito, HTV, MuchMusic, Glitz and truTV – for Latin America. It is also implementing a Tooncast cloud-based channel to be available online.

“We work looking to the future, adapting the company to the new trends of the industry,” said Luis Esparza, technology and operations VP, Turner Latin America. “10 years ago, migrating our channels from Atlanta to Buenos Aires was a milestone. Since then we have innovated a lot. And now, consumption is multi-screen and we are evolving towards building a new TV.”

Since Turner landed in Argentina, the company's Latin American division has produced its own content, dubbed and subtitled English-language audiovisuals, and developed software, mobile applications and websites for nearly every channel in the portfolio. Currently, it owns over 415,000 hours of stored digital content.

The company is said to be working on migrating its whole infrastructure to HDTV, as well as working on direct-to-home (DTH) satellite HD broadcasting for every network.
