AeroCinema, an aviation-themed subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) channel set to launch in March 2016, has appointed Clark Bunting as its executive chair of the board.

Bunting is a 27-year veteran of Discovery Communications, where among his roles he was president and GM of Discovery Channel. Most recently, Bunting was president and CEO of the National Parks Conservation Association, headquartered in Washington, DC.

Phil Osborn, the company's CEO, is the former CEO of Network USA, creator of the Wings series, which ran in prime time on Discovery Channel for 12 years prior to its acquisition by Discovery Communications in 1999. AeroCinema is expected to launch with over 400 never before seen aviation-related features, documentaries and profiles intended for aviation enthusiasts. Its top quality HD content explores aviation from its inception to modern day, telling the stories behind the airplanes, pilots and airplane manufacturers instrumental in WWI and WWII, through the Cold War and Vietnam, to modern aviation of present day.

“We are delighted to work with Clark Bunting again. As a strategic leader in media and entertainment, he brings exceptional experience in building premier broadband channels with loyal viewers, which we will market to aviation enthusiasts worldwide,” said Osborn. “We believe the market for niche over-the-top (OTT) content is poised for growth as consumers learn the value of having online choices for entertainment that allows them to watch quality programming that truly meets their interests.”
