The Ski International Federation has selected Spain's Grupo Secuoya as host broadcaster for the freestyle aerials World Cup 2016 and the Freestyle-Snowboard World Cup 2017.

Secuoya's subsidiary Drago is to produce, edit and broadcast the live high definition (HD) international signal of both competitions, which are to be held in Sierra Nevada.

The production house beat off competition from Mediapro, Videe, ISB and VAV due to better qualification in technical planning.

The group, which is also to launch its first free-to-air (FTA) DTT channel in 2016, said that the live production of sporting events is one of the areas it will focus on during the coming years. To this end, the company is looking to partner with public institutions and large companies which organise sports events.

Drago will use two HD mobile units with 30 cameras, and super slow systems with crane shots. Over 70 professionals will work on the field during both world cups.

Freestyle aerials, FIS, will be held during February 2016, while the Freestyle-Snowboard World Cup is scheduled for March 2017.
