El Clásico draws ratings growth for beIN Sports

El Clásico, the football match-up between Spanish rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, delivered an average of 1.87 million total viewers for beIN SPORTS.



The Spanish rivals faced-off at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid on 21 November, where Barça, league leaders and defending La Liga champions, demolished Real Madrid in a 4-0 blowout. The match marked superstar player Lionel Messi’s return to the field, although the goals were scored by teammates Neymar, Andres Iniesta and Luis Suárez.

The game reached 1.11 million total viewers on beIN SPORTS en Español and 768,445 total viewers on beIN SPORTS in English. The world-renowned match-up delivered for beIN SPORTS networks a 26% growth year-over-year for persons 2+ and a 33% growth in adults 18 to 49 total viewership.

The last goal by the Uruguayan striker, approximately in minute 74 of the match, marked the highest viewership peak of the broadcast, reaching 2.23 million total viewers across both networks. The teams are set to meet again on Sunday 3 April at the Camp Nou Stadium in Barcelona.
