PVR pioneer TiVo's cable MSO business saw 418,000 net additions in the third quarter of 2015, to total 5.51 million pay-TV subs.

Also, the launch of its 4K-capable, ad-skipping TiVo Bolt saw good growth, with 11,000 TiVo-owned subscriptions added, for a total of 952,000. So, with the MSO and retail categories factored in, TiVo added 429,000 total subs in Q3, for a grand total of 6.46 million.

TiVo said the growth in the pay-TV sector was its strongest in ten years, growing 60% year-on-year, and 47% on a sequential basis. The bulk of that came from international partners, but the company also said its business with North American operators grew 44% across more than 15 mid-sized operators.

TiVo’s Q3 service and software and technology revenues hit a record $102.8 million, up 17% versus the year-ago quarter.
