All five free-to-air (FTA) Atresmedia-owned channels will be aired in high definition (HD) on Spain's Vodafone TV as a part of a major agreement to expand the telco's TV portfolio, which also includes MTV.
Vodafone is to add nine regional TV networks, Viacom's MTV and three HD networks from Atresmedia, which already has Antena 3 HD and laSexta HD on Vodafone TV's schedule.
With Neox HD, Nova HD and the newly launched Mega HD, Atresmedia will be the first media group to have its entire HD portfolio on the telco's pay-TV service. The group is soon to launch a new FTA signal, Atreseries, which is not included in the agreement with the telecom operator.
ETB HD, ETB1, ETB2 and ETB3 for the Basque Country, TVG and G2 in Galicia, TPA7 and TPA8 in Asturias, and Canal Extremadura, will enlarge Vodafone TV's regional presence. Each channel will only be available for its local audience.
All the new networks will be available in the basic package, Esencial. With the new networks, Vodafone will be airing a total of 63 HD channels across its offering.
