Foxtel adds pop-up film channel for summer Down Under

Australian pay-TV operator Foxtel is adding a pop-up movie channel with titles curated from Foxtel Movies especially for the summer holidays.



The first pop-up theme, dubbed Foxtel Movies Best of 2015, will air from 19-31 December a range of movies including American Sniper, Fifty Shades of Grey, Gone Girl, The Lego Movie, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Maze Runner and Nightcrawler.

Then, from 1-10 January, the Foxtel Movies Heroes pop-up pay-TV will show action films including Transformers: Age Of Extinction, Thor: The Dark World, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Expendables 3, Green Lantern, Hercules, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

“Summertime and blockbusters go hand and hand so we’ve pulled together two great movie collections to help movie lovers, hungry for the best in action, comedy, intrigue and drama, discover more with the Movies pack and who better than Australian acting legend, Chris Hemsworth, to front our promotion of epic summertime films,” said Ed Smith, executive director of sales and marketing, Foxtel.

“We’re certain these new pop-up collections will help Foxtel Movies and Platinum customers make the most of their subscription this holiday season.”
