The Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network (HITN) is to deliver Spanish and Mexican cuisine programming to US Hispanics.

hitnFollowing an agreement with Mexican chef Alfredo Oropeza and Spain's AMC Networks-produced Canal Cocina, the HITN intends to promote healthy eating habits among Hispanics.

“Partnering with Canal Cocina and Oropeza is an honour to us, as both are icons of the international food scene,” said Eric Turpin, general manager, HITN. “We are to offer tools to help our audience to enjoy the Latin American and Spanish culinary tradition while having a healthy life style.”

The agreement takes Oropeza's Al Natural and Chef Oropeza En Casa series as well as Canal Cocina's Al Grano and Bajo en Calorías to HITN's schedule.

The HITN has recently been increasing its effort to diversify its programming, inking deals with the BBC to add CBeebies children's content and expanding its factual TV slate.
