Capitol Broadcasting has inked a distribution deal with over-the-top (OTT) video news service Newsy.
Three of Capitol Broadcasting’s news websites, including WRAL.com, WRALSportsFan.com and HighSchoolOT.com, will feature daily Newsy videos.
Newsy, a subsidiary of E.W. Scripps, is a millennial-focused journalism enterprise that brings perspective and analysis to reporting on world and national news, including politics, entertainment, science and technology.
“Partnering with other innovative media companies is core to our mission to change the face of millennial-focused news in the digital age,” said Blake Sabatinelli, general manager of Newsy. “Capitol Broadcasting, with its long history of excellence in journalism, is a natural fit as we expand our footprint across platforms.”
Newsy content is also featured on 30-plus websites owned by Raycom Media, and the daily news websites of its parent company, Scripps. It also has distribution across seven OTT platforms including Apple TV.
