Sony LIV has launched a movies-on-demand service, marking an expansion for Sony Pictures Networks’ over-the-top (OTT) video platform from catch-up entertainment, music and sports.

A monthly subscription to the on-demand film service can be bought for INR149, or for a daily subscription package of INR9, with unlimited viewing during the period of the subscription. Customers can pay for the subscription through multiple e-payment options including credit card, debit card, Internet banking and direct billing services.

“The movie subscription service is a convenient and affordable way for film lovers to enjoy their favourite blockbuster hits on their preferred digital devices. We have a wide assortment of cinematic treats on offer that users can access in a single click,” said Uday Sodhi, executive vice president head - digital business, Sony Pictures Networks.

“The different subscription models ensure that they pay as per their consumption levels. The move is targeted towards making the digital platform the only destination that consumers need to turn to in order to fulfil the entire spectrum of their entertainment needs,” Sodhi added.

Sony LIV is building its movie catalogue, but aims to offer subscribers 1,000 titles in Hindi, English and other languages.

Sony LIV’s movie subscription service will be accessible to consumers through its website or the Sony LIV app available on Google Playstore or App Store.
