BCL Producciones, Boomerang TV's Chilean subsidiary, and Chilevisión are to produce the Chilean adaptation of Kitchen Nightmares.

Scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2016, the format will star Gustavo Maurelli, currently head chef at the Sheraton Hotel in Santiago.

The first season is already in production and will consist of 10 episodes, filmed in different locations across Chile like Concón, Viña del Mar, Las Vizcachas and several areas across the capital, Santiago.

Andrés Canale, managing director of BCL Producciones, is in charge of the production.

Through this partnership, Boomerang continues to strengthen its position in Chile, where it has already produced Top Chef with public broadcaster TVN, and two of its fiction formats, The Time in Between and The Secret of Old Bridge.

The Optomen format Kitchen Nightmares, which originally aired in the US, has become a huge international hit, having been adapted in over 20 countries, including Spain, the UK, Germany, France and Italy.
