Spain's Televés has begun to educate Colombian technology instructors in DTT technology, preparing them for the increase in demand for technicians once the analogue switch-off takes place.
The two first training sessions have been held in the country's capital Bogota and Bucaramanga, following an agreement between Televés and Colombia's Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA). Each 25-hour course aims to train SENA's public instructors about the design and installation of digital telecom infrastructures, as Colombia is the only Latin American country that has chosen the European DTT standard.
The training plan includes practical and theory sessions around DTT distribution under the DVB-T and DVB-T2 standard, as well as satellite TV distribution and head-end solutions for cable networks.
“Getting to collaborate with SENA is a great honour for us. We both understand how important is quality technical education for the development and competitiveness of a country,” said Juan Molezún, director for international business, Televés.
