Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Kahn is considering bringing Breaking Bad to India as a Hindi film, rather than TV series.

SRK told The Indian Express that he has indeed been considering bringing Breaking Bad to India, not in a TV series format but as a film. “I want to make it into a movie. As a series, it is too evolved to come on Indian television. The Indian audience won’t be accepting of meth, drugs and the mafia,” Shah Ruhk Khan told The Indian Express.

“But the story of a man who is going to die and takes a chance to save his family is a good premise for a feature film.”

Launched on AMC in 2008, Breaking Bad ran for five seasons. Bryan Cranston played the lead role of Walter White, a struggling high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with cancer. He turns to crime in order to leave his family with enough money after his death.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is in discussions to buy rights to the drama, indicated he would take the lead role in a Hindi adaptation.
