Telefónica will distribute the Dolby Audio signal along with the regular IPTV signal, as fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) set-top boxes (STBs) can already decode the format.

The pay-TV platform continues to add new technology to differentiate its offering.

The company has also started to sell its own smart TV line, produced by Vestel, in Spain, as well as distributing its home gateway unit for convergent services.
