Netflix inks 4K smart TV-deal with Philips in Argentina

Aiming to boost traction is a key market, Netflix has signed a distribution agreement with Philips in Argentina targeting smart TV and Ultra HD viewers.



RTVN netfliPHiFollowing a similar strategy to what it did in other territories, the US-based subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) platform will be available six months for free for those buying a new Philips smart TV and 4K-ready. For current Netflix subs, the platform will also offer a free-subscription period of six months.

The Philips and Netflix promotion in Argentina is open until the end of February 2016 for owners of the 6700 and 7100 series Ultra HD models.

Netflix has made similar moves in other countries, most notably and recently did in Spain. Short after landing in the European country, the SVOD service announced it will be available for free for owners of Samsung smart and mobile devices.
