Argentina's over-the-top (OTT) platform Qubit TV continues to extend services across Latin America with its launch in Uruguay in March 2016.

The video service, which operates across Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay and Ecuador, continues to grow at a good pace, looking to expand throughout the pay-TV market by offering high-tech solutions.

“There is no roof for this business. In the coming years, the difference between cable TV and video-on-demand will disappear,” said Facundo De La Iglesa, Qubit TV's CEO, in an interview with Uruguayan newspaper El Observador. “We are going to consume everything under the same service.”

This model is what Qubit TV intends to offer in LATAM: free-to-air (FTA) and linear channels together with films and series on-demand. “We want a mixed, hybrid product, halfway between VOD and television,” added De La Iglesia.

Qubit TV launched in 2012 in Argentina and by the end of 2014 started an ambitious expansion plan by opening a commercial office in Colombia, from which it targets the Andean and Caribbean regions.
