Australian streaming service Presto TV has added the political drama Scandal and Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated series American Crime to its offer.

The subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service will host the Australian premiere of season four and the first nine episodes of season five of Scandal, with the remainder of season five to be fast-tracked after its US broadcast in February – when the series returns from its mid-season break.

Presto will also offer each episode on-demand from series one to three of the Washington DC-based Scandal – created by Shonda Rhimes whose credits include Grey’s Anatomy and How to Get Away with Murder.

Presto will also air American Crime for the first time in Australia, which explores issues of race, class and gender politics as it follows a racially-charged murder and its subsequent trial. The first season is available now, with the second season available from January after its US broadcast.

“Scandal is one of the most successful dramas currently airing on US television and Presto is thrilled to have secured the exclusive SVOD rights to all episodes of the multi-award-winning series,” said Shaun James, CEO, Presto TV.

“We’re also excited to bring to Presto the stirring drama American Crime, which is a courageous series that wraps up raw emotions among a diverse cast and is sure to strike a chord with our subscribers.”
