TDS Telecom is launching an IP-based TV service called TDS TV as well as new, faster Internet speeds of up to 1Gbps to customers in Alton, New Hampshire, and surrounding communities.
The services are expected to begin launching in early 2016.
"With the success of TDS TV in other New Hampshire communities like Hillsborough and Henniker, we couldn't be more excited to bring it to Alton and its neighbouring communities," said Julie Maiers, director of marketing at TDS. "It means faster speeds, a new choice for TV service, and the opportunity for exclusive discounts."
TDS is also bringing Fiberville to the communities. It's a concept that rewards residents and neighbourhoods with special offers and discounts once 15% of the neighbourhood pre-registers for TDS TV service. When this happens, Fiberville status is achieved and each pre-registered household receives free HD for life and free installation.
Residents can go to TDSfiber.com to get updates on when TDS TV and 1Gbps will be available, as well as track their neighbourhood’s progress toward Fiberville status. Services will begin launching in nearby New Durham, Barnstead, Centre Barnstead and Gilmanton in 2016.
TDS TV is powered by Mediaroom and features more than 260 all-digital channels, including over 100 in HD, on-demand TV and movies, pay-per-view, and on-the-go viewing options with TDS TV Everywhere.
