Mobile multimedia software firm NexStreaming has unveiled DASH with Widevine DRM support for its NexPlayer SDK multiscreen player.
The move means that video service providers will now be able to supply customers with premium HD video using the DASH streaming format protected with the leading digital rights management standard. NexStreaming believes that the support for DASH and Widevine will be easily adopted by any Android application, securing HD video quality. More than 200 premium video service providers have already deployed the Nexplayer SDK to enable quality video services to be delivered to tablets, smartphones, Android TVs and set top boxes.
“We are glad to announce the extension of our Player SDK capabilities with new content formats,” commented NexStreaming VP Carlos Lucas. “DASH streaming is getting popular and Widevine DRM has been added to the list of the most popular DRM solutions among video service providers. NexPlayer SDK includes now the support for both technologies and offers one more option to our customers while keeping its advanced feature set and HD video quality in every device."
