Bucking the cable subscriber loss trend, Time Warner Cable (TWC) has announced record full-year residential subscriber growth for 2015.

The cableco added 32,000 net video additions, with overall customer relationship net additions of 618,000 thanks to one million new high-speed data and 1.036 million new voice customers.

“We’re especially pleased that we were able to add residential video customers for the first time in nine years – a real milestone for our company and the industry,” said Rob Marcus, chairman and CEO, TWC, calling 2015 a "stellar" year.

“Ordinarily we wouldn’t announce subscriber results until our earnings release, but given our results, I couldn’t wait to thank the team for its outstanding performance,” Marcus added.

The results are especially notable considering that TWC reported residential video net declines of 7,000 for its third quarter – which, despite the losses, was still the best third quarter it has had since 2006
