Spain's EiTB shows online strength

EiTB’s online entertainment and information platform Eitb.eus closed 2015 with nearly two million unique users per month.



According to Google Analytics’ figures delivered by the media group, eitb.eus has averaged 1.98 million users a month and 87,300 daily during the year. These are highest figures since the Basque group launched online almost 20 years ago.

As an online platform of an audiovisual network, video has a central role to the website, both as a source of information and entertainment. The catch-up video-on-demand (VOD) service offering TV shows also gained popularity in 2015.

ETB's live TV streaming and radio broadcasts have seen over a million visitors during the year. In particular, sports have been an important source of online traffic for EiTB, with cycling competitions, among them the Tour de France, being the most watched sporting events. Videos of Athletic de Bilbao's win over Barcelona earlier this season also placed among the most watched content.

Regarding TV programming, ETB-1's Gu Ta Gutarrak and ETB-2's El Conquistador del Fin del Mundo have been the most watched on-demand shows.
