The majority (81%) of subscribers to the Czech DTH platform Digi TV have a stated preference for films.

This, says the platform, quoting the findings of a survey undertaken in December 2015, runs counter to the generally held view that Digi TV is a sports-oriented service. Nevertheless, sports are popular among 73% of subscribers and documentaries 67%, though adult channels are favoured by only 6%.

Digi TV also notes that its subscribers are satisfied with the new Digi TV service, which offers more channels, higher transmission quality and advanced set-top boxes or CA modules.

It was introduced on October 1 last year and customers are gradually being migrated to the service, with the ‘old’ Digi TV due to be switched off at the end of June.

Digi TV is a wholly Czech-owned platform, having been acquired by the local investment group Lama in April 2015.
