Dish serves up HBO Go in Mexico

HBO Latin America has selected Dish to launch HBO Go as a standalone over-the-top (OTT) service in Mexico.
hbo go etbBecoming the second LATAM country to welcome the service after its Colombian launch, Mexicans will be able to subscribe to HBO Go through Dish OTT without paying for a cable TV package.
Dish's digital platform will also be responsible for the commercialisation and billing of the service in Mexico.
“As we announced last year, we have in mind launching HBO Go as a streaming service across the region. We implemented the platform in Colombia in December and continue now Mexico,” commented Francisco L Smit, executive VP for distribution and media development, HBO Latin America. “Consumers will be able to enjoy premium HBO/MAX content when and where they want.”
The TV everywhere platform also has new features, such as multi-language for audio and subtitles, a live HBO channel and a new interface. The service will cost $8 per month and can be accessed through hbogola.com or dishmovil.com.mx.
“Dish looks to combine innovation and best content. This service offers a new way of entertainment through mobile devices for those looking for best series and films and original HBO programming,” added Benjamin Ramírez, marketing director, Dish.
