Vietnam’s Communications Ministry and the Republic of Korea’s Communications Commission are preparing a memorandum of understanding to build on their cooperation in the television sector.

The Republic of Korea’s (RoK) Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) helped Vietnam Television (VTV) to develop VTV7, a new national education channel which was officially launched recently, reports The Voice of Vietnam.

As well as VTV7, Vietnam and the RoK have previously worked together to acquire copyrights for certain shows and co-produced TV programmes, such as VTV’s drama Tuoi Thanh Xuan (Forever Young).

Through the extended co-operation pact, KCC Chairman Choi Sung-joon said the two countries would be able to share TV shows and co-produce them to export to other countries.
