Dori Media Group has sold a full season of its romantic comedy Esperanza Mia to TV Azteca, which will produce a local version for its main channel in Mexico, Canal 13

Originally named My Lovely Hope, the Mexican version is to air in a prime time slot in early 2016 and will be co-produced with Dori Media International and Pol-Ka Producciones.

This is the latest in a series of international deals for the format, after the show was sold to Poland’s Polsat and Spain’s Planeta Junior during MIPCOM. Esperanza Mia has also been sold to Israel’s Kids Channel and Viva, FMN Indonesia and Bolivia's ATB channel.

Ahead of coming premieres, the comedy series has aired on Argentina's Canal 13, becoming the highest performing show in the prime time slot. During its first week on air, Esperanza Mia achieved an average rating of 16.4 with a 20% audience share, prompting Argentina’s network to buy 180 more episodes of the show.

“With sales spanning the globe from Latin America to Indonesia, the format is already proving itself as one that can be easily tailored to audiences around the world,” said Nadav Palti, CEO and president of Dori Media Group. “We are sure the success the show has already achieved in Argentina will be replicated internationally.”

“We are excited to bring Esperanza Mia to Mexico's screens. We welcome this unique and fascinating story that is already number one in ratings in many countries around the world,” added Roberto Romagnoli, director of entertainment and production, TV Azteca.
