Atresmedia launches streaming VOD on LG smart TVs

Atresplayer, Atresmedia's streaming and video-on-demand (VOD) platform has launched its LG app, reinforcing its presence in the smart TV market.



Spain's most watched online video platform, according to comScore's 2015 figures, is expanding its multiscreen presence following a similar move from its largest competitor, Mediaset, which launched its online platform Mitele on Samsung smart TVs in December.

Atresplayer's LG app delivers Atresmedia's content on-demand via streaming with HD quality, Dolby sound, original version and the possibility of watching off-line. In addition, thanks to its adaptive bit-rate streaming technology, the video resolution adapts to the available bandwidth.

In addition to LG smart TV, Atresplayer is also available on Samsung smart screens, computers, tablets and smartphones (iOS, Android and Windows), some consoles and Google's Chromecast.

According to comScore figures, the platform hit 3.3 million unique users last November and during 2015, it served over 700 million videos.
