The tragic loss of rock superstar David Bowie has, somewhat expectedly, led to resurgence in sales of his music and among the chief beneficiaries has been online music provider Vevo.

According to the Hollywood Reporter on the day Bowie’s death was reported on 11 January, the rock legend’s catalogue attracted 51 million views on the online video service, a new one-day high mark for any artist on the streaming music platform. The music video catalogue reportedly saw a week-over-week increase in views of 5,198%.

The most-watched Vevo video was Lazarus, the prophetic and haunting single from what is the now the now valedictory album Blackstar launched just days before Bowie’s passing.
