Sky News Arabia streams in US after deal with Sling TV

UAE-based broadcaster Sky News Arabia has partnered the Dish Network in the US to stream live programmes through its Sling TV subscription-based service.
“Sky News Arabia is now one of the channels included in Sling TV’s roster for online subscribers. This gives us a fantastic opportunity to enhance our digital media footprint,” Nart Bouran, CEO, Sky News Arabia, announced via Twitter.
“Given the large number of media platforms available today and taking into account media consumption trends, we continually endeavour to broadcast across every available platform in order to appeal to the tastes and formats of varied audiences. This new service will allow our viewers in the US to watch Sky News Arabia live on smart devices as well as television,” he said.
“The ability to connect with a wider audience through unique digital formats also reaffirms our commitment to up our game and continue delivering quality and credible content that can sustain high viewership,” added Bouran.
Sky News Arabia, a 50:50 joint venture between the UK’s Sky and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed’s Abu Dhabi Media Investment Corporation (ADMIC), is already available across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) via satellite TV, online video via website, social media, smart mobile applications and live broadcasting on six major international airlines.
Sling TV, which launched early in 2016, is only available in the US and offers live online broadcasting on smart mobile devices and television sets.
