Mediapro has delivered several turnkey solutions for the launch of Angola's 24/7 channel Palanca TV which was introduced on Multichoice's pay-TV platform DStv in December.

Mediapro was in charge of advising the channel’s producers, designing the original concept, programmes and schedule structure, the network's design and technical realisation, and building the sets.

In addition, the Barcelona-based group contributed to the training of Palanca TV's technical staff in editing, electronic news gathering (ENG), in-studio tasks and satellite broadcasting.

The project was implemented over two months and, even though the network has launched, some of Mediapro's technicians are still based in Angola to continue training and supervise the project.

The station has been airing for a month from its Luanda-based studios through DStv's content packages DStv Mega, DStv Bué and DStv Grande.

Palanca TV intends to become an interactive network for Angolans, as the audience is able to participate in several of its in-house shows such as Pergunte Tudo (Ask about everything) and Consultas (Consultation).

“Palanca TV meets the needs of Angola's audience as it provides Portuguese-content with which viewers can identify,” said Bruno Carvalho, Palanca TV's general manger, during the network’s launch.
