Korean films and dramas are now available in the US and Canada after the launch of CJ E&M Movie Channel on the SoftBank-owned over-the-top (OTT) video network DramaFever.

Subscribers of DramaFever’s premium OTT service are now able to view on-demand 24 Asian pop culture hits produced and distributed by CJ E&M, including 20 Once Again, Dancing Queen, The Happy Life, Hellcats, Little Black Dress and Penny Pinchers.

Additionally, DramaFever subscribers have access to a library of 700 TV series, film and music titles, and more than 15,000 episodes – often made available to viewers on first-run, same or next day basis from their original broadcast. These include CJ E&M titles spanning popular Korean dramas to the company’s Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA).

“Our partnership with DramaFever began at last year’s KCON K-pop fan convention, where we saw firsthand the connection between its subscribers and our content,” said Mark W Shaw, CEO, CJ E&M America.

“As the leading destination for the most popular Korean dramas, DramaFever is a great distributor for our top films, and we are confident that the CJ E&M Movie Channel will be incredibly successful.”

Suk Park, president and co-founder, DramaFever, added: “We have greatly enjoyed our partnership with CJ E&M and look forward to furthering our relationship.

“The CJ E&M Movie Channel will provide our fans with an incredible selection of titles, including something for everyone: from action movies and thrillers to historical films and romantic comedies.”

The DramaFever VOD service is available online, or via apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Chromecast, Roku, Samsung Smart TVs and PlayStation 4.
