Longview-Kilgore Cable TV in Texas is replacing AMC Networks and WE tv with two other networks, effective 1 February.

AMC has been in contract negotiations with Longview-Kilgore Cable and other local cable companies since last year, but has been unable to solve an impasse over programming costs. AMC is home of The Walking Dead and a host of other popular programming.

"The additional costs and the less desirable programming would not be in the best interest of our subscribers," Longview-Kilgore said. "Their most popular show, The Walking Dead, is available for streaming on iTunes and Amazon Instant Video."

In place of AMC and its sister channel, which is focused on women's entertainment, Longview-Kilgore Cable will add CBS Sports Network to its standard service and Boomerang to its digital tier.

Boomerang is a 24-hour all-animated network for children and families dedicated to showcasing cartoons from the Warner Bros Hanna-Barbera libraries. CBS Sports Network includes PBR Bull Riding and Built Ford Tough PBR events. It also carries NCAA Ice Hockey, AFL Football, NCAA Baseball, AVP Volleyball and PBA Bowling events. CBS Sports Network will be on Channel 58 and available in HD on Channel 304.
