Movistar+ kicks off new pay-TV network in Spain

Telefónica's Movistar+ has launched its new pay-TV platform #0, premiering in-house content.
canal ceroThe telco's pay-TV service in Spain has been gradually premiering various formats over the last few weeks, starting with the late night show, Late Motiv, which has been on air since 12 January. In the meantime Movistar+ has finished compiling a 24/7 schedule which aims to offer more than football and films to it burgeoning pay-TV audience.
In addition to shows aimed at younger audiences such as Web Therapy, Diario VICE and Likes, #0 is to premiere La Huida, produced by Endemol Shine, and Tabú and Iñaki, two informative formats produced by La Caña Brothers and presented by well-known journalists including Jon Sistiaga and Iñaki Gabilondo.
The sports programming block is to be led by Movistar Arena, an in-house format which is to share the schedule with Canal+'s classics like El Día Después and Informe Robinson, and live sports including the Premier League, the NBA, Formula One and Super Bowl 50.
In addition, Prisa-produced Guardianes de la Historia, Zanskar formats Maratón Man and Resetea, and Eyeworks' talent show The Naked Choir are to complete the initial schedule of Movistar+'s new channel.
