Saudi-based regional satellite operator Arabsat will demonstrate its latest innovations, future fleet, and Hellas-Sat teleport facility in Cyprus to customers and service providers later this month.
Arabsat’s eighth Telecom Forum will be held on 10-11 February 2016, and feature an address by Marios Demetriades, Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Cyprus.
“This occasion will be a unique opportunity as Arabsat will be presenting its future fleet and newly launched satellite, BADR-7, that contains Ku-Band, Ka/Ku Strap and Ka-payload, providing coverage over Middle East, North Africa, North West Africa, Central Asia and South Africa. Arabsat is planning to take advantage of the Cyprus venue and intends to show Hellas-Sat teleport facilities to its esteemed customers to capitalise on business opportunities in the future,” said Mueid Al-Zahrani, CTO, Arabsat.
Arabsat will host a live demo at the show using Traveltronic all-in-one systems with Newtec Dialog Hub using Arabsat-5A Appendix Ku-Band Space Segment.
The products combine to integrate and complement cellular, terrestrial and satellite communications platforms. The regional satellite operator hopes to encourage the satcom industry to use Appendix Ku-Band for their broadcast, VSAT and broadband networks, as this band is less affected by radio frequency interference.
