YipTV taps Akamai for cloud CDN

Broadband over-the-top (OTT) television service YipTV has tapped cloud-based media delivery solutions from Akamai to deliver more than 100 live TV channels from around the world.



YipTV targets the more than 40 million foreign-born people living in the US with 100-plus channels of TV programming from their home countries and has been steadily aggregating entertainment, sports, news, lifestyle, music and other TV channels not typically seen in the US. It also allows subscribers to watch 18 live TV channels free on any broadband-connected device including smartphones.
