After launching MTV Play across Spanish-speaking Latin America, Viacom is preparing to launch MTV's TV everywhere platform, and a similar service for Comedy Central, across Brazil.

Expected to take place before summer, the move aims to meet the new demands of Viacom's youngest audience segment.

“Our viewers, young, are among the first ones moving to video-on-demand (VOD),” said Pierluigi Gazzolo, Viacom's president for the Americas, speaking to TelaViva.

“Several players are launching new multi-platform products, which is why we plan to premiere in Brazil some platforms we are already trying in Latin America.”

Launched one week ago across LATAM, MTV Play will land in Brazil in April, featuring MTV's entire content catalogue. One month later, it will be time for Comedy Central's TV everywhere service.

“Each one of our sites is to be responsive and mobile friendly, so content can be consumed through tablets and smartphones,” added the executive. “And we also intend to add more free-to-air content for non-subscribers.”
