beIN Sports reaches over 1MN Americans with La Liga

Spanish football is holding its own in US Spanish-language sports line-ups, with beIN Sports having scored over a million viewers with the latest FC Barcelona and Real Madrid matches.
The exclusive broadcast of two La Liga games – FC Barcelona vs. Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid vs. Espanyol lead to beIN Sports en Español out delivering its Spanish-language competition on both Saturday and Sunday on the weekend of 30 January.
According to Nielsen Media Research, the live telecast of the FC Barcelona vs. Atlético de Madrid game on the Saturday drew a total average audience of 446,000 viewers on beIN Sports en Español and an additional 165,000 total average viewers on beIN Sports. Meanwhile, the Real Madrid match delivered a total audience of 419,000 viewers on the Spanish-language network, and a combined average of 495,000 total viewers across both signals.
“We continue to consistently outperform our fully distributed competitors with unrivalled coverage of La Liga in spite of having been in the market for only three years, and we were the highest rated network at weekends between 6am and 6pm, 11 of 12 months in 2015. The La Liga match between FC Barcelona and Atlético outperformed Univision's Liga MX programming, ESPN Deportes’ Mexican First Division match featuring Dorados de Sinaloa vs. America, NBC Universo’s Liga MX match and Fox Deportes’ fourth round of the Copa FA game featuring Liverpool vs. West Ham.
