Now an established part of the TV festival circuit, the European Digital Forum has announced that its flagship event in 2016 will feature more fruits of its partnership with the Ultra HD Forum.

During the next Forum edition on 9-10 June at its traditional home in Lucca, the global advocacy body, with a mission to facilitate the adoption of Ultra HD and its related technologies, says it will be providing a wide range of perspectives in its work. These include its work in establishing guidelines for the implementation of a broad scope of new Ultra HD technologies including wide colour gamut (WCG), high dynamic range (HDR), high frame rate (HFR) and next generation audio (NGA) through keynotes and a roundtable discussion as part of this conference.

The conference will also feature some of the industry's leading experts and the best international broadcasters, content producers, distribution platforms, and consumer electronics companies. The event coincides with the Ultra HD Forum appointing event organiser Comunicare Digitale as its latest partner - the first Italian firm to be associated with the global platform.

“The European Digital Forum has been an excellent venue attracting decision makers from all sectors of the TV and Media industry,” said David Price, VP, business development for TV and media at Ericsson and a founder and board member of the Ultra HD Forum. “It has consistently maintained an agenda encouraging dialogue on the increasing level of innovation that is creating new media business models and new and exciting television viewing experiences.”
“Hosting an event of this level in Italy is a source of great prestige and joy,” added Andres Michelozzi, president of Comunicare Digitale, “because it leads to Lucca companies and personalities of great importance, with which to work to reinforce the growth of UltraHD. We are grateful to the board and to the members for such an extraordinary occasion."
