Super Bowl 50 saw a healthy 111.9 million total viewers for CBS on Sunday.

That’s down 2.2% from the prior year’s record high, when the New England Patriots victory over the Seattle Seahawks drew 114.4 million overall audience members on NBC.

The early Nielsen numbers make the Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers showdown third most watched event in television history.

The numbers should be slightly revised, however: Nielsen overnight data placed the slow-paced Super Bowl 50 at a 49.0 rating/73 share — down 1.4% from last year’s rating.

Also, on Twitter, Super Bowl 50 was the biggest event of 2016 to date.
