FremantleMedia's Got Talent franchise is set to premiere in Spain on Telecinco following worldwide success.
Mediaset, Telecinco's operator, is hoping that Got Talent España will conquer Saturday's prime-time slot, although the network will consider moving it to another slot if it doesn't prove successful. Indeed, Cuatro (now owned by Mediaset) found no success with Tienes Talento, the first adaptation of the format, which aired a single season back in 2008.
Got Talent España will be as similar as possible to Britain's Got Talent, which aired is ninth season in 2015 and is readying a tenth for 2016.
“The format has proven success during 10 years around the globe and we have got it to complete our big shows' portfolio,” pointed out Manuel Villanueva, content director at Mediaset.
Got Talent España will be directed by Santi Millán and Jorge Javier Vázquez, Jesús Vázquez, Eva Hache and Edurne will form the jury.
The format, created by Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment, has been produced by FremantleMedia's Spanish unit, adding to the 68 versions of the show currently available around the world, with sales reaching 186 territories.
