Mobile video will drive data consumption as the networks positions change in Argentina. By the end of 2015, 3G connections exceeded 2G (currently accounting for one in two mobile lines) for the first time. In five years, over a third of mobile data plans will be 4G and only 11.7% will remain 2G.
“Mobile video-related traffic will grow by 9.3 times from now to 2020, at a 56% annual growth rate,” said the report. “Average speed for mobile connections will be over 2.5Mbps, four times the average speed in 2015.”
According to the report, every user will consume nearly 4Gb of mobile data per month on average, of which 2.2Gb will be related to watching video. Currently, Argentineans consume 663Mb per month, 365Mb on video.
