Taking advantage of the leading event for second screens, long-established end-to-end OTT TV, IPTV and mobile TV solutions provider SPB is to showcase its new Intel-powered transcoder and set-top-box.

The company has collaborated with Intel to deliver SPB TV Astra, a solution for fast, high-quality processing of linear TV broadcast and on-demand video streams from a single head-end to any mobile, desktop or home device. The transcoder uses Intel Core i7 processors with media accelerators and delivers high-density transcoding via the Intel Media Server Studio.

Continuing to expand in emerging markets, SPB TV AG will also announce at MWC a new key strategic partnership, bringing a new IPTV service to Asia, which will be based on its SPB TV Rosing platform for operators.

“This year we go to Barcelona as a single-platform product company. With innovative solutions that change the whole experience of a set-top box and our new product line, we are moving to a much wider customer base,” commented SPB TV co-founder Sebastian-Justus Schmidt.

“We thank our valued partners worldwide for their confidence in us and look forward to working together on advancements in mobile TV and video technology solutions.”
