Zazoom Media Group (ZMG) has named Greg Morey as EVP of revenue in order to oversee development of new monetisation platforms, including programmatic insertion of socially-driven content.
Morey joins ZMG from the EW Scripps Company, where he was a vice president of revenue for its Newsy brand.
When you have the opportunity to hire a proven leader who understands the digital media landscape, sees new opportunities to develop and distribute content and most importantly knows how to monetise that content, then bringing that person to ZMG simply makes sense, said Tim Minton, co-founder and CEO, ZMG.
"When I look around the digital video space and the real players of our industry, I'm humbled that ZMG thought of me for this role, said Morey. I'm looking forward to growing ZMG in three distinct ways including: monetising the stable of lifestyle video titles that bring millennials to large media brand sites; building a well-produced, monetised video lifestyle channel on connected TV; and applying our technology to monetize social video with programmatic insertions.
Prior to working for EW Scripps, Morey was the director of digital operations for Tribune Broadcasting. He also held digital leadership roles with Gannett and Media General, as well as entrepreneurial experience with three start-ups in syndication, Ad Hoc IP Networks and Lifestyle Publishing.
