Fusion has announced a cross-platform series, Searching for the Latino Voter, whereby anchor and correspondent Mariana Atencio will travel across the US to explore Hispanics’ role in the upcoming election.

By telling stories like the influence of DREAMers in the Iowa caucuses or the divide among young Latino evangelicals in South Carolina, Atencio hopes to highlight unique insights about this demographic.

"We all know Hispanics are playing an increasingly important role in national elections, but as a young Latina journalist I am tired of seeing my community being talked about in stereotypes and monolithic terms," Atencio said. "With this series I want to give my peers a chance to speak for themselves. We are travelling the country to explore the issues that are driving young Hispanics at the ballot box this election season."

The series will run across Fusion’s digital, social, and over-the-top (OTT) platforms as well as on the cable network’s flagship newsmagazine, America with Jorge Ramos.

This series builds on Fusion's efforts to shine a light on the issues that young, multicultural voters care about this election season.
