Cartoon Network expands Chilean reach to FTA

Turner Broadcasting is to bring Cartoon Network's programming to its Chilean free-to-air (FTA) network Chilevisión.



finn cartoon networkThrough the deal, Cartoon Network aims to expand its already strong position among the Chilean children’s audience. Indeed in 2015 the Turner network was the most watched channel for kids aged four to 11 with access to pay-TV and the country's most watched kid’s cable signal.

From tomorrow (5 March), Cartoon Network will have its own programming block on Chilevisión, Zona Cartoon Network. For three hours a day over the weekend, original series like Finn & Huesos, Hora de Aventura, Un Show Más, Clarence, Steven Universe, Tío Grandpa and Escandalosos will be broadcast.

“Chile is a market in which our content is welcome, which is why we have become the country's most watched channel for kids,” said Barry Koch, senior VP, Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Tooncast, Latin America. “We are happy to expand Cartoon Network's entertainment experience through Chilevisión.”

“We're proud to be offering a programming block for kids which is designed together with one of Chile's cable TV leaders,” added María de los Ángeles Ortiz, vice manager, programming, *** Chilevisión *** . “We're sure children will identify with this product.”
